VICE PRESIDENT LENI ROBREDO VISITS DTI-PTTC’S 1ST EVENT FOR 2017
The Philippine Trade Training Center of the Department of Trade and Industry was highly privileged to be visited by Her Excellency Vice President Leni Robredo on its opening event at PTTC Hall last 12 January 2017.
Entitled “National Youth Business Convention (NYBC)”, the event was organized by the UP Business League in celebration of UP Business Education’s Centennial Year. The NYBC is accredited by the Department of Education (DepED) and Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
Her Excellency Vice President Leni Robredo was the guest of honor in NYBC’s kick-off activity. She was welcomed by the NYBC organizers and PTTC Deputy Executive Director Elizabeth Manuel. PTTC Executive Director Nestor Palabyab provided a quick tour/briefing about PTTC before VP Robredo’s keynote speech at the convention venue.
Aspiring entrepreneurs and students of business courses nationwide had a blast listening to VP Robredo’s welcome remarks that emphasized on the youth’s role in nation building as she firmly believes that they can offer genuine services for fellow Filipinos
In her speech, VP Robredo stated, “Remember that you don’t have to be a public official to make a difference. The real efforts that matter are small, daily, collective acts of service. Start in your home, in your school, in your organization and professional networks. This individual transformation multiplies 100 million times, will allow our country to embrace its own collective transformation.”

The entire 4-day event held in different venues across the country was described as a “new, noble, and fresh business convention” with insightful activities where the youth were immersed to various entrepreneurial ventures such as a start-up trade fair, visits to top performing companies, and a case competition to test acquired skills and learnings beyond the typical classroom scenario.
